Newark High School's spring musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, is the story of a group of junior high kids who are competing for the coveted
first place prize. This play is unique for Newark in that it utilizes volunteers

Our Town
Newark Community High School’s fall play Our Town, one of the most
famous American plays by Thorton Wilder, follows the lives of people in small rural town called Grovers Corners located in New Hampshire. Through minimal use of sets and props, the audience learns just how
beautiful life is and how much they may take it for granted.

Saw Another Butterfly
Newark High School Drama Club presents I
Never Saw Another Butterfly. This story stars a Jewish girl named
Raja who was one of over 15,000 Jewish children who passed through
Terezin, from 1942 to 1945. The title character teaches the children
and gives hope in the concentration camp until liberation of the
camp at the end of the war. I Never Saw Another Butterfly was performed
