Sandwich Fair Art Awards
by Jake Hagy

Newark, Il. (September 6-10, 2006) – Everyone always looks forward to the Sandwich Fair, but there is more than just rides and good food. Every year the fair board offers artists the opportunity to enter their works for judging, and this year was one of Newark’s best. From pencil drawings to water colors our students entered their creations. Congratulations to all who received ribbons.

Emma Miller, currently a senior, received not one, not two, but three ribbons. She won a first place premium for her colored pencil drawing, a third place premium for her watercolor painting, and another third place premium for her ink drawing. Jessica Christensen, now a junior, received two first place ribbons! One for her colored pencil drawing and another for her watercolor painting. Sam Holland, also a junior, and Alison Hoskins, a senior, both won a first place premium for their pencil drawings. Krista Skelton, a current junior, won a second place premium for her pencil drawing. Last but not least, Ashley Harris, a sophomore, won a third place premium for her pencil drawing.

Remember to enter your art in next year’s art competition at the Sandwich Fair, and you too will have a chance to see great art and win prizes yourself!
