Students in Mr. Hall's World History classes recently created their own versions of the Greatest Wonders of the
World. Students replicated the greatness and grandeur in scaled-down models of these masterful works of art and natural resources of our planet using everyday
household items.
Creativity, imagination, and problem solving were key to building a successful project. Students used whatever they could find including graham crackers, pretzels, building blocks, wood, clay, and other household items such as cardboard tubes, glue, popsicle sticks, plastic, etc. to make a proportional replica of the original. These Wonders were to be realistic and accurate representations of the original. Along with structure, the students are required to write a MLA format paper describing the wonder in detail and giving background information about their wonder and its significance. The wonders are displayed the in the hallways, and the student body voted on topics such as "Best Use of Materials", "Most Realistic", "Most Original/Creative" and "Most Wonderful of all the Wonders". This project involved a lot of hard work and effort, and all the participants really showed that through their wonder this year. |
