Tarzan

It’s an exciting time for Newark Drama Club as students get ready to perform Tarzan the Musical. I asked Mrs. Wheeler why she chose this play, and she said, "Every show is chosen to give our actors and crew a challenge. This show requires us to move and support one another in ways that are completely new."

The students are taking their role to the next level and really understanding their characters before the play by going to zoos to learn about gorillas and their behaviors. Mrs. Wheeler says, "The Lincoln Park Zoo is actually creating a class for us where we will study gorilla behaviors, movement, hierarchy and relationships to prepare for the show."

The actors started rehearsals the 2nd week in January. The students put in lots of time and effort to make this possible for the community, so come and support the students perform Tarzan the Musical, shows are at 7p.m Thursday, April 11, through Saturday, April 13, in the gym.
