The Little Mermaid

Performance Dates:
April 18, 19 & 20, 6:00PM
Newark Community High School's theatre program performed The Little Mermaid on April 18, 19 and 20, 2024 at 6pm.

"Welcome to Newark Community High School! I am beyond excited to join this prestigious program that has shaped much of the person I am today.

As you join us on this adventure to the depths of the sea, I invite you to embark on a journey of self-discovery and connection with our beloved characters.

For those of you who are experiencing the innocence and wonder of youth, let Ariel's adventurous spirit remind you to chase your dreams fearlessly, no matter how daunting they may seem.

To those navigating the tumultuous waters of adolescence and young love, let Ariel and Eric's enthralling romance serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding you that love knows no bounds.

As we journey into adulthood, you may find echoes of your own struggles and triumphs in King Triton's journey of letting go and embracing change, or in Ursula's relentless pursuit of power and control.

And for those who have weathered life's storms and emerged stronger on the other side, let Sebastian's wisdom and resilience resonate with you, reminding you of the power of perseverance and the beauty of second chances.

Just as the tides ebb and flow, so too do our own experiences and perspectives. May this production of "The Little Mermaid" serve as a reminder that no matter which season of life you find yourself in, there is always something to be gained from embracing the journey with an open heart and an open mind." -Nate Akre, Director
