Newark Drama Club Presents Fiddler on the Roof
Article by Autumn Bolte
Performance Dates:
Fri., May 1 - 7:00PM Sat., May 2 - 2 & 7PM

Not only did April showers bring May flowers, but the Drama Club of NCHS
performed Fiddler on the Roof. This fascinating play revolved around the lives
of a Jewish family living in a town as they strayed from tradition and dealt with
the consequences of it. The shows occurred on May 1 at 7 o’clock p.m. and
May 2 at 2 and 7 o’clock p.m. Tickets were 5 dollars per a person.
Members of Drama Club, both cast and crew, gathered a week in advance to
make sure they were ready for the coming performances. Throughout this week
of spilling blood, sweat, and tears, came an end result: victory. Everything came
together at the end of their coffee filled and stress induced week of preparation.
“I was excited to perform on such a unique set,” said Jon Kratzer, when asked
about what he thought about the musical and performing. As always, the creative
skills of Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Hager, Dawn Schultz, cast, and crew, all came together
to create an interesting perspective of what it would be like to live in the family's shoes.
For some, this was their last contribution to Drama Club performances.
The group would like to commend seniors Sarah Bogden (Crew), Kelsey Brown
(Cast), Danny Bullington (Cast), Mikaila Butuso (Crew), Taylor Catenacci (Cast),
Anthony DiClementi (Cast), Walliee Elizalde (Crew), Dylan Emerson (Crew),
Bailey Fletcher (Cast and crew), Cheyenne Flowers (Cast), Jon Kratzer (Cast),
Jessica Hager (Cast), Rachael Lape (Cast), Emily McCoy (Crew), Sarah Moutray
(Cast), Noah Nichols (Crew), Marty Schultz (Crew), Kaylyn Shankle (Cast and crew),
Jordan Sweeney (Cast), Justin Walker (Crew), and any unmentioned for their
dedication to Drama Club throughout the years.
Drama Club, once again, executed an amazing performance that’s
sure to last in the minds of the community for long after.
