Welcome to the Sociology Service Learning Page! This site was designed to showcase the Sociology's service learning projects at Newark High School. Their teacher, Mr. Mike Hall II, has designed this service learning project to get the students more involved in their community. The service learning project is a requirement for the class but the students have the pleasure of choosing whatever topic they wish to pursue during the semester. Some past projects include devloping and building a war memorial, researching the photo history of Newark, and many interviews with veterans and community members about the history of Newark. This site was designed by Lucas Hanson and Stephanie Warpinski, Sociology class of 2006, as their project to allow the community to explore what their young adults have done for the community. Click on a link on the left hand side to view the projects for the corresponding years. Within each year you will see in-depth details and media about the projects. We are open for any suggestions for improvments and other project ideas. Please contact Mr. Hall II at the Newark High school if you have any comments. Thank you. You will need to download the free version of Quicktime to view movies and the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDFs.
